Tips Before Your Pet's Surgery
It is very important that your pet has an empty stomach for their surgery to reduce the risk of vomiting under and after anesthesia.
Food must be withheld from your pet at least eight hours before surgery. Water can be left for your pet until the morning of the surgery.
We will call you the day before your pet's scheduled surgery appointment to confirm the time you will be dropping your pet off and to answer any questions you may have.
Our usual drop-off times for your pet are between 7:30 AM and 8:30 AM the morning of the surgery.
Compassionate Care for Your Pets
Treat your pets with the best veterinary care in the Bemidji area by bringing them to
Animal Care Clinic. We have the experience, the equipment, and the personnel to give your pet the proper care they deserve.
We also have 24/7 emergency veterinarian services. Call us and leave a message. The doctor on-call will be paged and will return your call as soon as possible.
Always follow the directions on your pet's medication precisely. Do not save them for future use. Do not give your pet human pain killers or human medications as animal biochemistry is different than human biochemistry and some common human medications can be deadly to animals. Only use medicines that has been prescribed by a veterinarian. Keep all medications out of the reach of children and pets.
to Catch Health Issues Early
We strongly believe that annual physical exams are the best preventative care for your cats and dogs. We thoroughly examine your pet's ears, mouth, throat, teeth, legs, skin, hair, abdomen, heart, and lungs to ensure they are working properly or to find potential issues to address. A lot can happen in a year for a dog or cat, so these exams are vital for a longer, healthier life for your furry friends.

Complete Dental Care for Your Pets
Dependable Dentistry for Your Cats and Dogs
Healthy teeth are important for your pet's health, as well as their diet and nutritional needs. They also help keep your pet comfortable and pain-free. That's why Animal Care Clinic offers full-scale dental cleanings and examinations for your dogs and cats. We suggest dental exams twice a year for your pets to catch dental problems early.
Most pets need to have their teeth cleaned by the time they are three-years-old, and in some cases earlier. We believe proper dental care can prolong the life of your pet. Recent studies show that 85 percent of dogs and cats over the age of five are affected by periodontal disease, which can lead to not only tooth loss but also infections in the heart, liver, and kidneys that can be potentially fatal.
