Meet Our Veterinary Health Care Team
We offer comprehensive veterinary care for your pet(s). We are proud of our hospital and
level of care that we provide to our patients and clients. We strive to provide your pet
with the best possible medical and surgical services in the area. Our focus is quality
healing, treatment and therapy. We at Animal Care Clinic emphasize preventive health care,
which includes annual exams, vaccinations, dental hygiene and other health safeguards to
ensure that your cat or dog does not suffer unnecessarily due to preventable and/or undetected
illness.
Meet the Vet
Dr. Eric Thorsgard originally hails from Thief River Falls, MN and went on to Concordia College in Moorhead for his undergraduate degree. He received his DVM from the University of Minnesota in 1987. After graduating from vet school Eric moved to Perham, MN to be a mixed and dairy practitioner. In 1997 Eric and his wife Gerri opened Animal Care Clinic in Bemidji. Eric has always loved northern Minnesota, especially the recreation the area provides. Eric is an avid canoeist who has canoed to the Hudson Bay from his backyard in Thief River, a 2 month trip. He took another 3 month adventure to the Arctic Ocean with his friends during his bachelor days. Dr. Thorsgard now has 3 boys, ages 13, 12 and 10 years old. Family activities include snowboarding, cross country skiing, canoeing and Tae Kwon Do. Dr. Thorsgard has a special interest in orthopedic surgery and has invented and sells orthopedic surgical hardware to veterinarians in the U.S. and Europe. Because of Dr. Thorsgards orthopedic skills many veterinary clinics in northern Minnesota, eastern North Dakota and southern Manitoba refer their surgical cases to Animal Care Clinic in Bemidji.
